About Apex
A small Hackensack studio building renovations the way they used to be built.
Apex Home Improvement & Handyman is a design-build renovation studio based in Hackensack, NJ. We work on a deliberately limited number of projects at a time so the lead carpenter, the project manager, and the owner are all the same conversation.
We were started by tradespeople, not by salespeople. That bias shows up in how we estimate, how we sequence work, and how we finish a job.
Operating principles

One crew, one accountability.
We don't subcontract the parts we should be doing ourselves. The hands you meet on day one are the hands finishing the trim on day ninety.
Honest scope, honest estimate.
Every line is itemized before a single demo cut. No vague allowances designed to balloon mid-project.
Build clean. Leave cleaner.
Dust containment, daily site sweep, and respect for the rest of the home you still live in.

Margins, reveals, scribes, and how a stone meets a wood are not extras. They are the project.
The standard
Materials selected with you, specified by us.
We sit down with you and go through the stone, tile, hardwood, and hardware before any of it gets ordered. Everything lives on one spec sheet that travels with the project, and nothing shows up on site without your signature on it.
